FAQs
Do you perform drug or alcohol testing?
No. Gulsby Consulting does not conduct drug or alcohol testing. Services focus on evaluation, education, and professional guidance.
What is a DOT SAP?
How long does the SAP process take?
Does a SAP clear me to return to work?
Can I choose my own SAP?
The timeline varies based on compliance, recommendations, and follow-through by you. During your evaluation, expectations and next steps will be clearly explained.
Yes. DOT regulations allow employees to select a qualified SAP.
A Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) is required by the U.S. Department of Transportation when a safety-sensitive employee violates DOT drug or alcohol regulations. The SAP evaluates the individual and guides them throug the return-to-duty process.
The SAP determines readiness to move forward in the DOT process but does not reinstate employment or override employer decisions.
Are services confidential?
Yes. All services are confidential and follow ethical and legal standards.
Do you accept court-ordered or employer-requested evaluations?
Yes, depending on the request. Please inform of the appropriate DOT or non-DOT service when scheduling.
